There’s a game that is based on the stock market that the seniors are doing, and the winner of the game gets $20 dollars, which is very motivating, particularly to us seniors.
It’s a game where your life is on the line as you fight for first place or if you’re in first place already fighting to stay on the golden throne. The stock game that has me and the rest of the seniors like this is called Wallstreetsurvivor.com, a website which gives you $100,000 in fake money and makes you spend it on the actual stocks of real companies. It forces you to decide what to buy or short or just to leave it be.
Before we talk about stocks you need to know four words:buy, short, sell, cover. “Buy” means purchasing shares of a publicly traded company to gain prophet. You would only buy stocks of the stocks of a company if it’s doing really well or it has a chance to do really well in the near future.
“Short” is where you profit from a company’s stocks starting going down and failing. You only short stocks are when you know the stock will do bad and go down or if it’s already doing bad. “Sell” and “cover” is just when you are when you wanna sell the stock, for buy you sell and for short you cover.
Now that you know what those four words mean when talking about the stock market, it’s time to actually talk about stocks. Stocks in the stock game is your source of money depending on the stocks you buy or short.
One example of stocks you should buy to gain money is any stock that has to do with AI or CPU since how popular it is and the companies related to the stock are gaining lots of money. One example of stocks you should short are companies that are failing or not making as much money. There are also stocks that might be too risky to buy or short due to their unpredictability.
A good strategy to see what stocks you should buy or short or neither is researching the company of that stock or the stock in general. By doing this it’s less likely you’ll waste money buying a stock that’s doing bad or shorting a stock that’s doing good
Another good strategy that’s good in this game is to always check your stock two or three times a day and check them every day. I made the mistake of checking my stocks two times a day. I went from first place to 72 places just for not checking during those two days… It was heart shattering and painful to see so don’t make the same mistake I did.
One last tip that I have is if a stock is doing badly or well depending if you buy or short it, do not sell or cover all of it. Only sell or cover some of the stock since it could come around and start doing good again if you buy or if doing bad if you short. I would only recommend selling or covering all of the stock you bought in one company if it’s continuing to do bad if you buy or good if you short and you see another stock that is doing amazingly or horribly.
By the time you see this article the game will be over for the seniors and whoever is in first place will get 20 dollars. But this is for the next seniors that will most definitely play this game once in 12th grade. Even if you’re in last place because you made some bad decisions that doesn’t mean it’s game over just yet. Just because your in first place does not mean you can sit back and chill
This game is a battlefield of chance and skill. Where the only friends are you, your skills, and your Frenemy luck itself. where‘s only one winner with the smarts and will to win
