I am a senior with a part time job. Balancing both can be really hard, due to keeping up with school work and my work schedule.
Before school starts:
5:30 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. – Alarms go off just to be snoozed over and over again.
6:10 a.m. – 7:20 a.m. – I get ready for the day, put on an all black fit due to work’s dress code, and eat breakfast.
7:25 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. – I drop my 10-year-old sister off at school then head back home to get my stuff for school and work.
8:40 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – I head to school on the train & bus, I stop by the deli to get snacks for the rest of the day.
9:40 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Going through a normal school day, looking forward to seeing my friends and hanging out with them. Not really looking forward to any of my classes, all of them give me headaches now . The day usually comes with some ups & downs.
3:05 p.m. – 3:35 p.m. – I work at a retail shop, I usually get there 20 min early, having to wait till my shift starts at 4 p.m.
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – My shift depends on where I’m put for the day, but typically I will be the main cashier/middle helper. Some days can be really stressful due to rude customers, the customers not knowing how to shop as civilized people, and the store looking overall a huge mess, therefore making closing a bit more harder. The store closes at 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday the store closes at 9 p.m. , on Sunday it closes at 6 p.m.
8:00 p.m. – 10:30ish p.m. – We clean the store and make sure it’s ready for the next day. We count and deposit the registers, throw the trash out and sweep. If the store is really disgusting then we mop the whole store.
10:50 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. – I finally got home after a 30ish minute train ride.
11:40 p.m. – 12:50 a.m. – I settle down, get ready for bed, eat late dinner, and debrief about my day to my mom.
1:00 a.m. – I finally go to sleep just to do it all again the next day.
