I am a person who loves trying new things. And also to save some money in the process. Park Slope is already an expensive neighborhood. But at school I need to eat somehow. There aren’t many name-brand restaurants in Park Slope, so that leaves the small-businesses. That isn’t a bad thing. It’s always good to try out new things.
A prime example of this is Chipotle vs Papi’s Grill. Chipotle and Papi’s Grill are two blocks away from each other on 7th Ave. Papi’s Grill is a Mexican restaurant in Park Slope. They offer food like burritos, nachos, and tacos. These restaurants have the same meal items on their menu, so t
hey get compared a lot. At Papi’s Grill, their ingredients are all organic. Papi’s Grill’s prices are also very cheap compared to Chipotle. For example, Papi’s Grill and Chipotles tacos. Papi’s Grills tacos are $6 and Chipotles are $8. These tacos have the exact same thing on it but there is still a 2 dollar difference. But after games, my friends and I go to Papi’s Grill to get a large plate of nachos that we share. It would come up to the reasonable price of $9 and memories were made.
Last but not least, Pita Pan. Many just walk right past this restaurant with ease. This is because many don’t even recognize this spot to be a restaurant. Pita Pan is a Mediterranean restaurant on 7th Ave., a couple blocks away from the John Jay Campus. Many don’t think much of this restaurant because of the low profile. Pita Pan is a good restaurant but nobody hypes it up enough for others to try it. When I need to get a quick, fast bite to eat before practice, the first place I’ll go is Pita Pan. I would always also get their chicken caesar wrap for $12.50. Their food is a little pricey but it’s definitely worth it. And the quickness in getting the food is very useful.
Popularity shouldn’t matter when it comes to restaurants. Every restaurant has their pros and flaws, and should all be treated equally.

I love Pita Pan – especially their falafel with hummus & hot sauce!
