Have you ever wondered what you wanted to do after school? Do the days go by too quickly? Are you tired of wasting your day doing nothing?
Then this article is the one for you! Here at PSC, we have a wide variety of extracurricular activities run by awesome teachers who enjoy being there for you. There is a club for everyone here at PSC. If you’re not sure, you can also attend a meeting and test the waters.
If you are a creative person, a storyteller, or simply someone who loves to write, then The PSC Scholar is the club for you! It’s run by 11th-grade English teacher Ms. King, who is dedicated to publishing a compelling website (this one!) featuring young, developing writers from different subjects and points of view. Every Thursday from 3 to 4 pm, helping writers get their stories out there!
If you are interested in learning about the brain and neurological differences, the Neurodiversity Club is for you! Another criminally underrated club here at PSC, it meets once a month in Ms. Samuels’ room. Run by Ruby Santos and Hannah Sullivan, two student athletes who are dedicated to helping others learn about neurodiversity and helping build a diverse learning space for students. Ruby and Hannah go around during circles announcing the meeting days.
Perhaps you want to be more involved in planning school events. Joining the Student Government is a great way to do so! You can help plan student events like bake sales, spirit weeks, and sports events like March Madness. This is a great way to get involved and meet new people while also contributing to the school you attend.
Maybe that’s not your style; maybe you want something more artsy. Art Club is held every Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm in Ms. Goneze’s room. Ms. Goneze is dedicated to helping young artists embrace their talents and supporting students who are just starting out. They do extensive painting and drawing, using a range of colors and techniques.
Are you looking for a community? A way to feel more connected to your peers and learn new things together while having fun? MSK (My Sisters Keeper) and MBK (My Brother’s Keeper) meet once a week. MSK, led by Ms. Asia, Ms. Goneze, and Ms. Lisa, is held in Ms. Goneze’s room every Wednesday during lunch. MBK, run by Mr. Adams, Mr. Consentino, and Mr. Wyatt, is held in the 4th-floor gym every Thursday after school.
We also have a chess club held every Wednesday during lunch in Ms. Vegas’s room. It’s a calm and fun environment.
If you want something more physical and hands-on, we have tons of sports to choose from. From table tennis to football, martial arts to stunt, we have so many teams to choose from.
The best part about clubs at PSC isthat you don’t have to choose just one! You can join many clubs and be involved in a little bit of everything. Here at PSC, there’s a club for everyone.
